How To Choose The Right Trash Compactors For Home

If you are in the process of comparing potential trash compactors for your home, you may want to be aware of what to look for so you don't just buy one that is at a discount and find out later that it is not the right unit for you.  Many people don't think about managing waste past installing disposals like those from Sinkmaster or Insinkerator but there are other options.

Adding a trash compactor to your kitchen eliminates the garbage smell in the room and having to constantly argue about who is taking the trash out far too often.  Not to mention, this is one of the best ways to put a stop to your food waste ending up in landfills where it decomposes and releases toxic gas into the air.

What Are The Right Specifications For You?

Today, manufacturers make these units so compact that they can fit in even the smallest kitchen and are  even ideal for boats.  Under the counter styles do not have a finished top but they can be installed neatly between cabinets which really saves on space.  If you want a nice flush look you can also buy an after market more custom made trim.

Freestanding units have finished tops that can be used for a little extra counter top space if needed.  Most compactors come with 1.4 cu ft capacity 1/3 horsepower motor, noise insulator, anti-jam capabilities, plastic or paper bags, tilt-away trash baskets, reversible panels and between 2,000 and 5,000 pounds compacting force.

When you go to buy your new compact trash unit, choose one that has safety features, especially if you have little ones in the home who may want to feed it when you're not looking.  Removable key knobs can be a big stopper when it comes to avoiding accidents.

Some Important Safety Considerations

It is important that everyone in the house (adults included) understand that this is not a new toy.  Poisonous or explosive chemicals, flammable materials and aerosol cans must never be put in the unit.  Many compactors will hold 50 pounds worth of trash in the bags so keep in mind that although you won't have to take the trash out so often, it may be a two-person job.  Also, although many styles suggest that it is safe to throw in glass, it is really never recommended.

You will appreciate that trash compactors for home require very little maintenance.  Should you decide to clean it, flip the power switch to off and unplug it, remove the bag and put on gloves.  Some people like to vacuum their unit out but you can simply wash it with warm soapy water and make sure that it is dry before putting in a new bag.

I was tired of having to compact all of my trash myself and sending everything else down disposals. I recently bought a new home compactor for waste and it does all of the hard work for me. Now all I need to do is buy a new Sinkmaster.

I found a coupon online to get a home garbage disposer for trash at a steep discount. I jumped on the opportunity right away. Now, I can compact all of my trash with the flip of a switch. I cannot believe it took me this long to do this.

There are many great disposals out there at great prices. After I decided to buy one at a huge discount, I decided I should get a waste compactor for home garbage. The kitchen does not stink and it has been over a week since I took out the trash.

The satisfaction of hitting the switch for the Sinkmaster and seeing everything disappear is just as about as satisfying as seeing how compact the trash is after the disposer has done its job. What will they think of next?

I was so keen on the ability to feed as much as I wanted to into my garbage disposals that I decided I would get a compactor as well. My new home waste compactor makes it where I only have to take out the garbage once a week.

My new home trash compactor looks great in my kitchen. I was able to buy it on discount and it has helped me to reduce my waste volume by four times what it used to be. The compactor is something I will recommend to all my friends.

Septic System Maintenance - 9 Easy Tips to Avoid Septic System Problems and Save Money

By Erik Pearson
Replacing the septic drain field is easily the biggest expense of septic system maintenance; it can run from $3,000 to $10,000+. So, the whole point of septic system maintenance is to avoid drain field failure. The septic tank's purpose is to trap solids and oils, and the drain field's purpose is to absorb waste water. If solids or oil escape from the tank and flow into the field, it will clog, fail, and overflow onto the yard.

Saniflo Macerator Repairs and Problems

By David S Davis
There really is very little point in calling a engineer that does not have all the major parts for your macerator on board as stock. Many people who have problems with their macerator just call a local or friend or plumber, but they simply will not have the parts or fully understand how the macerator works and will often just condemn a perfectly fixable macerator. By far your best option is to call some one that really understands the macerator and will have spare parts with them and preferably some one that will offer a reasonable fixed price repair service.
