A Helpful Guide For Installing An Insinkerator Pro 333

If you are looking for a safe and efficient garbage disposer then you need not look any further than the insinkerator pro 333.  Whether you have an old model not working or a leak that needs fixing or if you have never had a disposer, this is a model you will find to be reliable, user-friendly and fairly easy to install.  You may have been told in the past that you cannot use food waste systems with a septic tank but this is completely untrue.  If your tank can handle your washing machine, dishwasher and toilets, it can absolutely handle one of these.

Things You'll Need?

The following is all you will need to undertake the installation of your pro 333.

•    Insinkerator disposer

•    Cleaning rag

•    Soapy water

•    Plumber's putty

•    Water pump pliers

The Process

•    First you need to access the drain assembly that you will find under the sink.  Locate the drain lines that are coming out from under the bowl and running to the P-trap.

•    Loosen up that nut that is found at the line's end that connects over to the sink drain.  After you do this you will loosen up the nut that is on top of the tailpiece.  Remove this from the sink.

•    Next you will loosen the large nut that holds the drain basket stationary and remove it completely.  While a wrench that is designed for this type of job is ideal, you can also use water pump pliers and they are just as effective.

•    Examine the sink's drain hole for any debris, especially old built up plumber's putty.  Clean this out for the new basket.

•    Roll plumber's putty to form a roper and place it around the inside perimeter of the drain hole located at the top of the sink.  Now, place the new drain into the putty and secure it there in place underneath the sink with nuts and washers that are compatible to the motor of your new Insinkerator.

•    Locate the electrical hookup.  If you don't feel comfortable completing this portion, hire an electrician.  It is a very short and basic job and won't cost you a fortune.  If you feel you can handle this part of the install, expose the wires by removing the cover.  Connect the appropriate wires before you secure your disposer to the sink.

•    Find the appropriate spot where the drain should be installed.  Attach the plastic elbow to the unit and then add the drain line from the sink.  Depending on your setup, it may be necessary to lengthen the drain line that is there now for it to reach the designated spot on the unit.

Optional Extras?

You will find that in addition to purchasing your Insinkerator Pro 333 there are other accessories to choose from as well.  Stoppers and flanges come in every color you could possibly want as matte, polished or with a stainless steel finish.  You may be also interested in quiet baffles, sink-top switches and even a Jam-buster wrench.

Where To Buy?

To be honest this completely comes down to your personal preferences. No doubt you will find the best bargains online – I won’t mention any specific sites as there are so many. One thing I will say is make sure it is third party approves and has some testimonials so you can be guaranteed of the service. Also you should be able to get one day shipping in most cases on most garbage disposer websites. A warranty is also another important consideration – no matter whether you buy online or install they should provide for an appliance technician to come out to service the unit if required.

I read some reviews about the InSinkErator 333 model leaking, but since I did not have a system under my drain and the unit was on sale, I decided to go ahead and install it anyhow. One year later and it still works great!

I used to crank up the cold air from my HVAC unit because of all the food rotting in the trash. I got rid of the rubbish under the sink and install a larger unit. Now my trash doesn't stink because my Pro 333 InSinkErator is on the job.

My wife wanted to move because of all the problems we were having with our septic system. I bought a 333 Pro model and it has made it where there are no more smells from the tank and we do not have to lug everything to the curb.

I send most of my waste down the drain. I needed a powerful garbage disposal to handle the workload. Luckily, I purchased the 1/3HP Pro InSinkErator and it had all the power I needed. There is no hesitation when I am cleaning after dinner.

I have a septic tank and I needed a disposal which would not have me cleaning the system every month. The new Pro model was just what I was looking for. Now if only they made an HVAC unit as well.

I used to think that all of the great press I got about the 333 model InSinkErator was rubbish. After my old unit was not working, I decided to put the unit to the test. I have to take off my hat to the best model disposal I've ever owned.

My old garbage disposal started leaking, so I decided to buy a new one. After purchasing a new InSinkErator Pro model I was able to replace it for the unit I used to have in the drain. Now it is doing a great job cleaning out the waste.
